Fishing Rod

A fishing rod is a long, flexible pole used to catch fish. In its simplest, a fishing rod is a simple keep or pole attached to a line ending in a catch (formerly known as an viewpoint, hence the term angling). Modern style and fabrication techniques, along with advanced materials just like graphite, boron and fiber-glass composites as well as stainless steel(see Emmrod)- have allowed rod makers to tailor both shape and action of fishing rods for higher casting distance, accuracy, and fish-fighting qualities. They may be mostly popular with the new and young anglers, as well as fishers who cannot afford the generally higher priced graphite rods. They are more commonly found among those anglers that fish in strong areas such as on dirt or piers where slamming the rod on hard objects is a greater probability. This may potentially cause the break point, making a fiberglass stick preferable for some anglers due to its higher durability and cost compared to graphite rods. Today's most popular rod tends to be graphite for its light weight attributes and its ability to allow for further and more accurate cast.[7][8] Graphite the fishing rod tend to be more sensitive, allowing you feel bites from fish easier.

Modern fishing rods retain cork as a typical substance for grips. Cork can be light, durable, keeps warm and tends to transmit fishing rod vibrations better than synthetic components, although EVA foam is also used. Reel seats in many cases are of graphite-reinforced plastic, aluminium, or wood.
